ARCA launches control operation on Income Tax in Argentina

The Revenue and Customs Agency (ARCA) has activated a control operation on the Income Tax corresponding to the 2025 fiscal period, focusing on inconsistencies detected in both companies and dependent employees. According to what was learned by the Argentine News Agency, the body began to send mass notifications after crossing the data loaded into the Siradig system. The irregularities point to two fronts: companies that did not make the corresponding withholdings on their payroll and employees who "inflated" their deductions to pay less tax. Warning to employees: "Apparel and equipment" One of the most sensitive points is the deductions declared by workers. ARCA detected cases where the amounts reported for apparel and equipment are disproportionate to the remuneration received. "We suggest that you verify that no error occurred when loading the receipts," indicate the letters sent to taxpayers. Companies have a deadline until April 30 to make the correct annual settlement and present Form F.1359. The tax service reminded that expenses such as suits, shirts, ties or wallets (non-exclusive work use), or tools such as computers or cell phones are not deductible under this concept. Workers have time until March 31 to rectify their declaration in Siradig and avoid penalties or subsequent adjustments. The message to companies On the other hand, ARCA has urged employers that, based on the salaries paid in 2025, they should have acted as withholding agents and did not do so. "Labor relations were identified that, due to the amounts of remunerations received, would be covered by the regime," states the official notification.
