The president of the bus company Monsa, Marcelo Pasciuto, is considering filing a criminal lawsuit against the firm Metropol in the coming days. The lawsuit is for allegedly falsifying SUBE card data and receiving excessive state subsidies amid a complaint to the government about this situation. "This week we could be finalizing with our lawyers a criminal action in the courts," Pasciuto told the Noticias Argentinas news agency. The central conflict lies in the irregular distribution of subsidies amounting to 30,000 million pesos, or 20 million dollars. Metropol is said to have exchanged long-distance tickets for short ones to 'inflate' the compensations received. "The longest trip receives a higher subsidy," he explained. Pasciuto also dismissed a five-year-old complaint that Metropol filed against his company for alleged irregularities in the diesel fuel the state subsidizes for buses. "The CNRT carried out the audits, and the National University of Lomas de Zamora confirmed it. A few days later, from Davos, they announced the departure of the Secretary of Transport," the businessman detailed, referring to the dismissal of Luis Pierrini, a close ally of Economy Minister Luis Caputo. He added that "there is a significant difference that Metropol should be debited, and it must be redistributed to the rest of the companies."
