Workers of the Dr. Ahorro pharmacy chain have been massively laid off and accuse the company of asset stripping. 'Some 90 workers of the Dr. Ahorro pharmacy chain have been dismissed since mid-December 2025 onwards. None of us have been paid even the December bonus, the last month worked, or the unused holidays,' they state. The workers claim the company continues with the asset stripping, without purchasing merchandise. 'The shelves are increasingly empty, and the remaining workers must work overtime to cover the gaps of the dismissed, but those hours are not paid nor can they be compensated with days off if the branches do not have enough staff to cover these gaps.' In protest, the laid-off workers will mobilize this Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the branch located at Cerrito 342, in the City of Buenos Aires, against the mass layoffs without pay, the overload, and the asset stripping. After the protest, they will move to the mobilization in support of retirees in front of the National Congress. They also called on the media, worker organizations, and political parties to join their struggle.
