Food inflation in Buenos Aires reaches 0.6% in first week of January

According to a survey by Analytica, food and beverage inflation in Argentina's metropolitan area was 0.6% in the first week of January. Extrapolated for the month, the figure reaches 2.7%, while the projected general inflation rate is 2.4%. The highest increase was recorded in the prices of fruits, vegetables, and meat.

Buenos Aires, January 11 (NA) – During the first week of January, food and beverage inflation in the metropolitan area reached 0.6%, according to a survey conducted by the consulting firm Analytica. The data corresponds to sales centers in the metropolitan area, and projected for the full month, they show an increase of 2.7%, according to the study accessed by the Argentine News Agency. Meanwhile, the projected general inflation rate is 2.4%. The highest increase in the average of the last four weeks was recorded in fruits (+5.8%), vegetables (+5.2%), and meats and derivatives (+3.8%). Among the categories with the smallest increases are dairy products (+0.9%) and other foods (+0.8%), which include snacks, sauces, condiments, etc.
