This is a strategic infrastructure project driven by the Province of Buenos Aires that will help to decongest vehicle traffic on key corridors near and in the City of Buenos Aires, reduce travel times, and provide greater predictability and safety for those who travel daily through the region. According to what was learned by the Argentine News Agency, the route is divided into four sections, crossing several municipalities in the western and southern part of the conurbation, and is consolidating as a fundamental public work for local and regional development. In addition to improving the flow of private vehicles and heavy transport, the highway will favor territorial integration, boosting logistics and allowing to reduce the environmental impact associated with congestion by organizing traffic and decreasing polluting emissions derived from long traffic jams.
Kicillof injects USD 138 million to solve a historic problem for the people of Buenos Aires. From an integral perspective, the progress of this highway not only represents an improvement in mobility, but it will also be an opportunity for economic reactivation and job creation. Currently, on this section, the work is at a standstill and progress is almost nil, with 2% in the municipalities of Florencio Varela and Berazategui.
Section 1 It links the Camino del Buen Ayre with the West Access at the height of the Morales stream. On its way, it passes through the municipalities of Ituzaingó, Merlo, and La Matanza.
Section 2 The 20 de Junio neighborhood, in La Matanza, is the starting point, reaching Provincial Route 58 along its 28.4 km, which means 95% of the work progress, traversing the districts of La Matanza, Ezeiza, San Vicente, and Presidente Perón.
Section 3 It begins on Provincial Route 58 and runs for 18.6 kilometers until it meets Provincial Route 53. The road covers territory belonging to San Vicente, Presidente Perón, and Florencio Varela.
Section 4 The last stretch connects Provincial Route 53 with Autovía 2 over a 10-kilometer extension.
Buenos Aires, January 8 (NA) – With the objective of improving road safety, optimizing connectivity, and accompanying the urban growth of the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA), the works for the new highway that will unite the north with the south of the Buenos Aires conurbation are advancing. The completion of the sections under execution will strengthen the productive corridor of the Buenos Aires conurbation, promoting a more balanced, sustainable, and secure growth, in line with the provincial policies of infrastructure, environment, and territorial development. The work will improve vehicle circulation, favoring territorial integration, boosting logistics, and allowing to reduce the environmental impact associated with congestion.
