The traditional Christmas menu for family celebrations saw a year-on-year increase of up to 44% in 2025, with the most significant price hikes in beef, premium-brand sodas, and fruit-studded Christmas bread, according to a private study.
The consulting firm Focus Market analyzed the price evolution of products that make up a Christmas menu for four people, considering three categories: economic, intermediate, and premium. Each menu consists of a main course, dessert, sweet table, and drinks.
«The most significant price increases within the Christmas table were observed in beef cuts, premium-brand carbonated drinks, and fruit-studded Christmas bread—three categories that combine cost pressures, seasonality, and changes in market structure,» explained Damián Di Pace, director of Focus Market.
This year, the economic menu costs 98,266 pesos and includes a main course of suckling pig, a third-brand cola, wine, and a potato and egg salad. The dessert is 1 kilogram of artisanal ice cream, and the sweet table consists of a fruit-studded Christmas bread, a chocolate chip pudding, peanut brittle, almond nougat, strawberry sparkling wine, and champagne.
The intermediate menu costs 196,599 pesos and is made up of a main course of center-cut asado, a first-brand cola, wine, and a potato and egg salad. The dessert is 1.5 kilograms of tub ice cream, and the sweet table includes a Christmas bread, a fruitless pudding, peanut brittle, peanut nougat, a pineapple fizz, and cider.
The premium menu costs 314,768 pesos. Its main course is a premium whole peceto cut, a first-brand cola, wine, and a potato and egg salad. The dessert is 1 kilogram of artisanal ice cream, and the sweet table consists of a fruit-studded Christmas bread, a German stollen, a nut cake, a soft Spanish nougat with yolk and peanuts, premium cider, and premium champagne.
Compared to the previous year, the economic dinner rose from 87,127 pesos in 2024 to 98,266 pesos in 2025, an increase of 13%; the intermediate dinner rose from 141,770 pesos to 196,599 pesos, a 39% increase; and the premium dinner rose from 218,651 pesos to 314,768 pesos, a 44% increase, concluded the report.
«The fruit-studded Christmas bread is affected by the rise in the price of imported inputs such as almonds, walnuts, and hazelnuts, whose cost is directly influenced by the exchange rate and international food inflation,» explained Di Pace.
