Buenos Aires, December 18 (NA) – The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has opened the deadline to access the export quota for meat to the United States for the 2026 commercial cycle, through Resolution 249/2025 published this Thursday in the Official Gazette.

The regulation established that “the registration period for the 2026 commercial cycle of the quota for bone-in beef, fresh, chilled or frozen, will begin” from “midnight on the day the measure comes into force and for a period of 10 consecutive days”.

Interested parties must complete the corresponding form through the TAD procedure called “Application for an export license - Meat quota to the United States. Cycle 2026”, and meet the specific access requirements for the contingent with the corresponding documentation.

In explaining the opening of the period, the official text indicated that “the regulatory regime must ensure the regular supply of meat throughout the entire period to achieve the consolidation of a 'Country Brand' in the US market”.

It also specified that “so that the completion of one commercial cycle and the beginning of the next do not affect the normal course of business operations between the Argentine Republic and the United States, it is appropriate to advance quotas while the final award for the period is resolved”.

At the end of October, the United States quadrupled the import quota for Argentine beef, raising it from 20,000 tons to just over 80,000 tons, as reported in an official livestock document. In this way, the quota to be distributed among exporters will be larger on this occasion.
