Argentine Toy Stores Hope for Sales Revival Ahead of Christmas

Buenos Aires, December 15 (NA) – Toy stores hope that Christmas sales will revitalize consumption in the sector with stable prices and promotions using different payment methods.

After a difficult year for the national industry, businesses are looking to take advantage of Christmas to mitigate the decline in consumption, although they project moderate activity amid competition from imports and informal channels.

In the coming weeks, traditional toy stores, specialty shops for early childhood development, bookstores with children's sections, and national chains will offer discounts ranging from 10% to 50% on selected items, in addition to interest-free installments with various payment methods.

Commercial initiatives will also be joined by bank promotions, a key factor considering that 74% of Argentines prioritize promotions and discounts when making their Christmas purchases, according to a survey by the consulting firm Focus Market, accessed by the Argentine News Agency.

Analyzing the delicate situation facing the sector, the Argentine Chamber of the Toy Industry (CAIJ) assures that they are working with “prices below sustainable levels,” a common denominator for several sectors during the year, which is replicated in the end-of-year festivities.

In this sense, the entity revealed that in toy stores it is possible to find affordable options starting from $3,000, such as modeling clay sets, block packs, plastic cars, stacking towers for early childhood, playing cards, and small beach buckets with a shovel and rake.

Bank promotions in toy stores Banco Nación: 20% discount and 6 interest-free installments.
