The Argentine government announced the launch of a tender for the private concession of the Tecnópolis venue. This move, as reported, aims to stop the state from financing one of its most deficitary structures while ensuring the continuity of activities on the site through private investment. According to official information, the property had accumulated a historical debt of over 4.813 billion pesos, and there was a reported lack of equipment worth 544 million pesos (with a judicial complaint in process). Since December 2023, the government had already reduced staffing by over 30% (from 333 to 198 employees). The new tender seeks to deepen this change of model, which the Executive branch claims has already allowed the state to stop spending and start generating revenue. The National Appraisal Court set an initial monthly fee of 611 million pesos for the concession. In 2024, projected income is 600 million pesos, with expectations to reach 2.749 billion by the end of 2025. The Chief of Staff, Manuel Adorni, stated that the property will no longer be a burden on the wallets of Argentines under the new private investment scheme.
