Buenos Aires, December 12 (NA) — The General Tax Directorate (DGI) filed a complaint today against the Argentine Football Association (AFA) for the alleged misappropriation of taxes and social security resources.
According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), the body, which is part of the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA), estimates a fiscal damage of $7,593,903,512.23.
In the complaint, signed by the interim head of the Criminal Division of ARCA's Legal Department, Vanina Vidal, it is alleged that the AFA failed to deposit the withheld amounts into the treasury, which exceed the monthly limit of $100,000, through maneuvers that took place from August 2024 to the present.
