Argentina is positioning itself as one of the countries in Latin America with the highest concentration of programmers and data scientists per capita, featuring a consolidated startup ecosystem and sustained growth in Artificial Intelligence adoption.
According to data presented at the launch of the 11th Latin American America Digital Congress, 69% of Argentine companies use this technology for searching and analyzing large volumes of information. The official announcement of the congress was made at the Argentine Catholic University, bringing together representatives from chambers, companies, and leaders of Argentina's digital ecosystem.
Participants highlighted the country's strategic role as a cradle of technological talent, high-impact startups, and a regional innovation hub, according to the Argentine News Agency.
Technology adoption in Argentine companies
During the presentation, Lesley Robles, director of America Digital, emphasized that "Argentina is firmly advancing towards the Sixth Industrial Revolution, driven by rapidly growing technology adoption that is transforming its industry".
The figures presented reflect this progress: 69% of companies use cloud storage, while 60% incorporate IoT solutions to optimize processes. This is accompanied by an 80% increase in the use of virtual assistants and chatbots during 2025, driven by demand for automation in customer service.
In the manufacturing sector, 63% of companies have incorporated advanced robotics to automate operational tasks.
"Artificial intelligence is redefining the competitiveness of Latin America, and Argentina has all the conditions to become a key player in this new digital era," stated Robles.
The director added: "The country has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to innovate, create, and export world-class technological talent."
Argentina's technology ecosystem and its challenges
The country's technological development has been driven by organizations like CESSI, SAIA, ATICMA, and the IT hubs, which work to strengthen the knowledge economy. These entities promote specialized training, local data centers, R&D spaces in AI, and the adoption of disruptive technologies.
Alexander Ditzend, president of the Argentine Society of Artificial Intelligence (SAIA), highlighted the importance of leveraging the convergence between artificial intelligence and Web3. Ditzend stated that this combination will be key to the nation's technological future and will grant it a global strategic advantage, especially due to its specialized talent in AI and a consolidated Web3 ecosystem.
However, challenges persist: only 43% of companies have dedicated digital innovation teams, which highlights a skills gap that both the government and civil society organizations are working to reduce.
