The Southern Energy consortium includes Pan American Energy, YPF, Pampa Energía, Harbour Energy, and Golar LNG. The buyer is the German state-owned company Securing Energy for Europe (SEFE). The contract is for eight years and covers the sale of 2 million tons per year, starting from the end of 2027, when the floating LNG vessel 'Hilli Episeyo' will become operational. It will be docked in the San Matías Gulf, in Río Negro. The agreement was signed by Rodolfo Freyre, CEO of Southern Energy, and Frédéric Barnaud, CEO of SEFE. Total exports are estimated to reach US$ 7 billion over the contract's duration. The national consortium was specifically formed to develop the Vaca Muerta gas field.
