According to information from the Argentine News Agency (Agencia Noticias Argentinas), the benefit—aimed at the health of pregnant people and early childhood—was initially characterized by its low real value (an average of 9,700 pesos in constant pesos) and its vulnerability to inflation. Spending on AUH, Alimentar, and 1000 Days prevented 2.6 million people from falling into destitution, a report reveals. The 500% Jump and Indexation. The dynamic of the benefit changed radically starting in June 2024. Nominal Increase: A 500% nominal increase raised the real purchasing power of the benefit to an average close to 30,000 pesos (in constant pesos), more than triple the previous period. Stable Value: Unlike other discretionary benefits, this new and higher purchasing power remained stable and protected thanks to subsequent monthly indexing to inflation.
