Argentina Authorizes 15 New International Routes with Peru

The national government has authorized a Peruvian airline to operate 15 new international routes for passenger and cargo flights, which will connect Buenos Aires as well as the interior of the country with Peru and other nations. This was done through Resolution No. 43/2025 of the Secretariat of Transport of the Ministry of Economy, published today in the Official Gazette, which was accessed by the Argentine News Agency. The resolution authorizes LATAM Airlines Peru to begin flying from November 30 on the Lima (Peru) - São Paulo (Brazil) - Buenos Aires (Argentina) route with seven weekly frequencies. Additionally, the resolution authorizes the company to operate the following air routes: Lima – Iguazú; Lima – Rosario; Lima – Mendoza; Lima – Salta; Lima – Córdoba; Lima – Tucumán; Lima – Neuquén; Cusco – Iguazú; Cusco – Rosario; Cusco – Mendoza; Cusco – Salta; Cusco – Córdoba; Cusco – Tucumán; Cusco – Neuquén. These routes may have stopovers and connect with the following cities: Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Washington, San Francisco, Orlando, Rio de Janeiro, Punta Cana, and Santo Domingo. "These new routes are possible thanks to the existing bilateral agreements between the Argentine Republic and the Republic of Peru, and the Memorandum of Understanding for Open Skies signed in 2024," stated the Secretariat of Transport in a press release. They added that "this measure expands the flight offering between both countries, allowing for greater regional connectivity, the promotion of federalism, and establishes an expansion of the route map, which translates into more flights, greater connectivity, and better opportunities for passengers." "As a result of these policies, Argentina has signed a total of 52 Memorandums of Understanding and open skies treaties with countries around the world, setting a global record in terms of quantity and time of implementation. In this way, the opening of the air transport sector continues to advance, expanding the flight offering to consolidate an increasingly free market, for the benefit of companies and passengers," the press release concludes.
