Milei Meets Vista Energy CEO After Multi-Billion Dollar Vaca Muerta Investment Announcement

President Javier Milei received this morning the CEO of the oil company Vista Energy, Miguel Galuccio, after the firm announced an investment of USD 4.5 billion in Vaca Muerta.

From the Scientists' Hall of the Casa Rosada, escorted by the economic team led by Minister of Economy Luis Caputo, the head of state met with the company's authorities, with Galuccio standing out, who previously served as the head of Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales, S.A.

"Vista Energy confirmed an investment plan of 4.5 billion dollars in Vaca Muerta to increase its production and consolidate itself as one of the largest oil exporters in the country."

"Pampa Energy announced an investment of 450 million dollars until 2037, with the longest private bond issued by an Argentine company," he added.

In its plans for 2030, the company expects to increase production to 200,000 barrels per day.

This morning, in his role as Chief of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni praised the investment in his first press statement since taking office.

"YPF reached 200,000 barrels per day of shale oil production, an 82% increase in less than two years," the new official continued from the conference room.

Galuccio was appointed president and CEO of YPF in 2012 and became the first executive to lead the company after a nationalization process strongly questioned by the libertarian administration.

In recent weeks, the company announced a plan that forced a reconfiguration of the energy landscape, after advancing an investment of over USD 4.5 billion in Vaca Muerta with the idea of increasing production by 65%, which would allow reaching 180,000 barrels of oil per day by the year 2028.

The company contributed more than US$6 billion and became the largest oil exporter in the country.
