Buenos Aires is the top tourist destination in Argentina. This was announced by Despegar at the "Travel D: Destino Buenos Aires" event held at Madero Tango. The company Despegar highlighted the strong growth of the city as a tourist hub: The main domestic points of origin are Córdoba, Mendoza, and Neuquén.

Boom of Brazilian and Chilean tourists According to data shared by the company, international tourism is the main engine of the city. 65% of travel sales to Buenos Aires correspond to international trips. The breakdown of that figure is compelling: 50% of international visitors come from Brazil. It is followed by Chile with 30%. Additionally, Buenos Aires represents 16% of all travel searches within the country.

Tango, football, and Aerolíneas Argentinas The Despegar report also revealed what tourists do in the city and how they get there:

Activities: The activities and tours segment showed a 37% increase compared to the previous year. The most sought-after experiences are tango shows and visits to the Museum and Stadium of Boca Juniors.

Flights: In the domestic market, Aerolíneas Argentinas dominates traffic, transporting 75% of passengers flying to Buenos Aires.
