The Government confirmed a 2.21% increase for the Unemployment Benefit from ANSES, aimed at workers dismissed without just cause, due to the expiration of contracts, or external causes. This increase, effective from March 2025, applies to all family allowances, pensions, and retirements from ANSES, including this plan for unemployed individuals.
Under the Mobility formula established by Decree 274/24, the increase is based on the inflation data provided by INDEC two months prior. The measure is implemented in a context where the City of Buenos Aires Statistics and Census Institute reported an increase in unemployment from 4.6% to 7.5% within a year.
The amounts of the Unemployment Benefit are adjusted to the Minimum, Vital, and Mobile Salary (SMVM). In the third month of 2025, the minimum amount will be $148,416, equivalent to 50% of the SMVM, while the maximum will be $296,832, not exceeding 100% of the SMVM. Additionally, the assistance will be 75% of the highest salary received in the six months prior to the application, within the mentioned limits.
To access the ANSES Unemployment Benefit, the applicant must initiate the procedure within 90 days following their dismissal and meet certain requirements based on their type of work. For example, permanent workers need at least six months of contributions in the last three years, while temporary and seasonal workers require less than 12 months of work in the last three years.
The duration of the Benefit varies according to the time worked: 2 months for those who contributed between 6 and 11 months, 4 months for those with 12 to 23 months of contributions, 8 months for those who have contributed between 24 and 35 months, and 12 months for those with 36 months or more of contributions.
