Oil companies will adjust the price of gasoline, although the definitive percentage has not yet been determined. This increase will come into effect starting Saturday, March 1, 2025, according to information provided by the Government. The rise is due to the recomposition of the margins of the oil companies and the increase in fuel taxes, which will be formalized through a Decree in the Official Bulletin.
The Ministry of Economy explained that, in order to ensure predictability and the development of the sector, there will be an update of the taxes on unleaded gasoline, virgin gasoline, and diesel, which will have an impact on the price of 0.4%, below the inflation of January 2025.
With this adjustment, the value of a liter of super gasoline in Buenos Aires, currently at $1151, will increase to nearly $1190. It is expected that the update of taxes will have a lesser effect on the final increase, with the adjustment in the margins of the oil companies being the main driver of this increase. The price of gasoline will rise by 2% starting next Saturday due to this price recomposition supplemented by the tax update.
