The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, reiterated his criticisms of President Javier Milei, accusing him of promoting the cryptocurrency $LIBRA and pointing out that he put 'the invisible hand of the market in the pocket' of his followers. Kicillof described this action as a defined scam and expressed his surprise at Milei's involvement in such a situation, given that the president had been involved in a scam previously.
In radio statements, Kicillof emphasized that the promotion of the cryptocurrency by Milei was presented as an investment instrument in Argentina when in reality it was a multimillion-dollar scam. The Buenos Aires governor considered that the freedom to scam was what those involved in this situation were pursuing.
According to Kicillof, President Milei not only collaborated in someone else's scam but was also the main protagonist of it. The governor labeled Milei's actions as extremely serious and stressed that the promotion of this scam constitutes a scandal of international magnitude. In this context, Kicillof highlighted Milei's responsibility in what happened and questioned his role in the dissemination of an initiative that turned out to be harmful for those who trusted it.
