Owners of electric and hybrid vehicles in Buenos Aires can benefit from discounts of 50% to 100% on tolls, promoting a more environmentally friendly environment.

The head of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, announced that car owners with Telepase will be able to receive discounts ranging from 50% to 100%. This measure will specifically apply to hybrid and electric cars to promote a more environmentally friendly atmosphere. The discount will last for one year and, according to the official statement, electric cars will be exempt from toll payments in the City, while hybrids will only pay 50%.

In the process to access these discounts, it will be required that car owners are registered in the Telepase payment system. Those drivers who wish to take advantage of these exemptions must go in person to the AUSA offices located in Dellepiane and Piedras in Parque Avellaneda. It is essential to bring the green card that identifies the car as electric or hybrid.

The cars that will be 100% exempt from toll payments are Nissan Leaf, Renault Kwid E-Tech, Renault Mégane E-Tech, Renault Kangoo Z.E., Renault Kangoo E-Tech, Corradir Tito and Tita, Ford Mustang Mach-E, Audi Q8 e-tron, Audi e-tron, Audi e-tron Sportback, Audi RS e-tron GT, Mercedes-Benz EQA 350 4MATIC, Volvo C40, Porsche Taycan, and Sero Cargo.

To process the Telepase and access the toll discounts, it is necessary to have the payment device. The Government of the City of Buenos Aires has informed that a group of drivers will be exempt from toll payments through this system. The steps to follow include visiting the official website, completing an online form, selecting the payment method, choosing the shipping method or pick-up point, approaching a placement point, and activating the device on the website.
