Six prisoners escaped from a police station in the province of Misiones, and a large-scale operation is underway in the city of Bernardo de Irigoyen to capture the fugitives, involving drones, canines, and even support from the Brazilian Police. The escape occurred early Monday morning at the police station in the aforementioned city when on-duty personnel found a hole in the wall of the cell's bathroom. It was determined that seven inmates had escaped, prompting the launch of an operation to apprehend the fugitives. The news outlet 'Primera Edición' revealed the identities of the prisoners: Alejandro Ramos, Emanuel Krourluch, Daniel Simons, Agustín Morais, Jorge Ojeda, Darío Brítez, and Juan José Ferreira Alvez. The latter was recaptured shortly after near the police station and is now in custody, according to the Argentine News Agency. Nevertheless, authorities have confirmed that procedures to find the other six fugitives are still ongoing, and assistance has been requested from the Brazilian Police due to the possibility of the escape into neighboring country via illegal border crossings. Regional Unit XII has deployed access controls, searches in wooded areas, and patrols. Drones, tracking dogs, and tactical groups are being used. In parallel, the prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation into the officers on duty at the time of the escape to determine if there was possible collusion.
