Berisso Signs Contract for Sewer Construction in Villa Argüello

Berisso, Argentina, January 30, 2026 — This week, the municipality of Berisso took a key administrative step for a long-awaited sanitation project: the signing of the contract to build a sewer network in Villa Argüello. This project aims to expand access to services and improve the sanitary conditions of the neighborhood. According to the Argentine News Agency, the initiative includes 6,854 linear meters of pipes and 724 home connections, as well as the construction of a pumping station that will allow the system to be connected to the main collector located on Avenida Río de La Plata. The agreement was signed within the framework of a provincial urban integration program, with the presence of the head of OPISU, Romina Barrios, the mayor Fabián Cagliardi, and representatives from the World Bank. The Municipality emphasized that the objective is to reduce infrastructure deficits and accompany the sector's growth, with a direct impact on daily life: fewer septic tanks, better environmental conditions, and more predictability for households. The project is also part of a scheme of interventions that seeks to integrate popular neighborhoods into formal service networks, with international funding and coordination with the Province. In the coming days, operational timelines and work schedules are expected to be defined, while coordination with neighbors and neighborhood entities continues to minimize disruptions during execution.
