Buenos Aires, November 24 (NA) -- The historic Peronist leader and former mayor of Berazategui, Juan José Mussi, died this Monday at the age of 84, after having remained hospitalized due to a delicate health condition. According to what Argentine News Agency learned, Mussi had been hospitalized since last week at El Cruce Hospital due to a severe pulmonary condition that had worsened in recent days. Farewell to the last baron of the Conurbano: Juan José Mussi, mayor of Berazategui, has died. The leader, a clinical physician by profession and a central figure of Bonaerense Peronism, leaves behind a vast political career that spanned nearly four decades. Mussi was mayor of Berazategui five times (with interruptions, since 1987), holding the mayoral office until the day of his death. In addition, Mussi served as Minister of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires during the government of Eduardo Duhalde, and was Secretary of Environment and Sustainable Development of the Nation during the presidency of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. His death marks the end of an era for Peronism in the Third Electoral Section and generates an immediate impact on the political structure of the municipality of Berazategui.
