In Bahía Blanca, Judge Claudia Olivera has ordered the preventive detention of Maximiliano Velázquez, who was arrested for the death of a woman and her daughter in a house fire. Velázquez, a relative of the victims, is accused of killing the two women and then setting the house on fire. According to the prosecutor, Jorge Viego, the crime should be classified as a femicide. Velázquez was apprehended shortly after the fire, and evidence, including a motorcycle and clothing smelling of fuel, was seized. Security cameras captured his movements through the city before his arrest.
