Milei Announces Special Fund for Bahía Blanca

In an event held in Bahía Blanca on Wednesday, President Javier Milei revealed the establishment of a special fund of 200 billion pesos to assist those affected by the recent storm in the city. Milei criticized what he considers the political use of the misfortune by Governor Axel Kicillof, stating that effective help should be offered without bureaucracy instead of capitalizing on the tragedy for electoral purposes.

Political tension in the province of Buenos Aires has intensified with this announcement and the criticisms directed at Kicillof, highlighting the dilemma between emergency management and the electoral contest. The president condemned the political manipulation of the suffering of the people of Buenos Aires, emphasizing that amidst the electoral campaign, Kicillof has preferred to take advantage of the misfortune rather than present concrete solutions.

Milei assured that the special fund would be used to provide direct and proportional assistance to those affected, without intermediaries, stressing the importance of effective and prompt assistance. This measure comes after Milei's visit to the city, where ministers Patricia Bullrich and Luis Petri were previously present, as a gesture of support to the affected community.

Mayor Federico Susbielles explained that while the national government had already allocated 10 billion pesos for the emergency, at least 400 billion pesos would be required to carry out the complete reconstruction of Bahía Blanca. Milei pointed out that such situations should not be exploited for political ends, advocating for an effective response committed to the well-being of those affected.
