Councilors of Bahía Blanca, belonging to different political parties, along with self-convened neighbors, are requesting the Municipality to continue the water resources that have been halted since November of last year. Additionally, they demand the reopening of the hydraulic works monitoring table due to the current situation affecting the entire district.
One of the councilors who has spoken out on this matter is Pablo Daguerre from the Juntos party, who emphasized the importance of urgently resuming the hydraulic works monitoring table. According to Daguerre, the Municipality had announced a possible meeting led by the undersecretary of provincial water resources, Néstor Álvarez, but so far no updates have been provided, which has generated concern among those involved.
Angélica Lauquen, a member of 'Self-Convened Neighbors for Water', also expressed her concern over the suspension of the monitoring commission made up of provincial officials. The reopening of this table is crucial given the decrease in the dam level over the last 26 months, reaching historically low levels.
The situation is exacerbated by the lack of calling the monitoring table by the relevant authorities. Despite the promises made by the president of the Deliberative Council of Bahía Blanca, Mauro Reyes, to summon residents to address this issue, two months have passed without any action taken regarding this matter. The community continues to wait for responses and concrete actions to address the water issues in the region.
