President Milei supervises repairs after floods

President Javier Milei visited Bahía Blanca to oversee the installation of a military bridge following the flood that caused 16 deaths. Accompanied by authorities, he assesses the damages and the response of the Argentine Army.

President Javier Milei supervised this morning the assembly of a military bridge at the Maldonado Channel, an area affected by a recent storm in Bahía Blanca that left 16 dead. Accompanied by the mayor Federico Susbielles, he closely observed the Argentine Army's work as they set up the structure to restore connectivity in areas isolated by damage to road infrastructure.

During the inspection, military engineers explained the assembly process to the president, who assessed the impact of the overflow that caused severe damage to the channel and its surroundings. The president was accompanied by his sister, the Secretary of the Presidency Karina Milei, and his Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos. The delegation also included the presence of the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and the Minister of Defense, Luis Petri.

Subsequently, Milei visited the Monitoring Center of the Municipality, where he met with Mayor Federico Susbielles. Minister Patricia Bullrich, in charge of overseeing the assistance operation, was also present. After this meeting, the president moved to a Water Treatment Plant and a tactical bridge deployed by federal forces in the affected area.

At one point during the visit, Milei was criticized by former president Cristina Kirchner, who questioned his emotional connection with those affected by the tragedy. From the president's circle, it was indicated that the visit was not announced beforehand to avoid political interpretations and that it was carried out without a photographer or communication team. Sources from the Casa Rosada explained that Milei was already maintaining constant communication with the local mayor.

The day of inspection of the areas affected by the flooding marked President Milei's attention and commitment to the citizens harmed by the natural disaster.
