Milei Visits Bahía Blanca Following Tragic Storm

President Javier Milei visited Bahía Blanca, a city affected by a violent storm that has left at least 16 people dead. During his visit, he met with Mayor Federico Susbielles and toured various areas affected by the tragedy.

Governor Axel Kicillof emphasized the responsibility of the national government to provide financial assistance to provinces in crisis, such as Bahía Blanca. He highlighted the need to establish a relief fund for the city and assured that options are being evaluated to bring it to the provincial legislature.

The Army installed a modular bridge over the Maldonado Canal to facilitate the transit of affected residents, while local authorities are working hard to mitigate the consequences of the storm and support those affected. For his part, President Milei toured a water treatment plant and a tactical bridge set up by federal forces during his visit.

Milei's visit was unexpected and was not announced in advance, which generated diverse opinions and criticisms from various sectors. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure in Bahía Blanca will require significant investment, according to the Minister of Government of the province of Buenos Aires, Carlos Bianco.

Amid the crisis, political figures like Cristina Kirchner have expressed their concern and pointed out the need for a greater emotional connection from the president with those suffering the consequences of the disaster. Despite the criticisms, the government continues coordinating efforts to assist the city and restore normalcy in the affected area.
