Solidarity Train Delivers Aid to Bahía Blanca

A solidarity train that departed from the Constitución station in the City of Buenos Aires arrived this morning at the La Vitícola station, located about 20 kilometers from Bahía Blanca, carrying more than 1,200 tons of donations intended for those affected by the storm on March 7. The load includes food, clothing, footwear, and other essential supplies.

The train made stops in various Buenos Aires towns where donations were collected, for both Bahía Blanca and towns affected by the storm, such as Carhué, Guaminí, and Coronel Suárez. The train arrived at the La Vitícola station shortly after 7:50, where volunteers were waiting to proceed with the unloading of the donations.

On site, there were security personnel from agencies such as Prefectura, Federal Police, and Gendarmerie to safeguard the cargo, which will be transported to Bahía Blanca for distribution in a logistics operation. The shipment includes non-perishable food, clothing, mineral water, and cleaning products, among others.

The number 54 crusade of the 'Solidarity Train' is an initiative of the magazine Rieles that dates back to 2001, aimed at promoting the use of rail for humanitarian purposes. Over the years, they have transported more than 850,000 kilograms of donations, with the support of railway unions, Trenes Argentinos, and other entities in the sector.

Since its inception in 2001, the Solidarity Train has carried out numerous crusades, visiting more than 48 towns across the country. During these years, they have traveled approximately 31,778 kilometers, transporting 742,000 kilograms of food to towns that have not received passenger trains for over two decades.
