
The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, reported on the ongoing reconstruction efforts in Bahía Blanca following the devastating storm that hit the region. He highlighted the collaboration of various entities in the aid efforts, mentioning that local workers and residents from popular neighborhoods are together in this mission.
In a recent statement, Kicillof mentioned that the tragedy in Bahía Blanca, caused by climatic reasons, is an unprecedented challenge for the region. He emphasized the magnitude of the storm, which resulted in 400 millimeters of rain in just a few hours and caused flooding in several areas of the city, as well as in the towns of Ingeniero White and General Cerri.
The provincial leader praised the coordination between the national, provincial, and municipal governments, highlighting the presence of the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, and Minister Luis Petri in the assistance efforts. He also highlighted the collaboration of the Minister of Health, Nicolás Kreplak, in the recovery efforts.
Regarding material damages, Kicillof pointed out the situation of the José Penna Acute Hospital, which was flooded with one meter of water, causing serious damage to the electrical infrastructure. The governor emphasized the importance of restoring basic services in the city and assured that an inventory of the damage is being conducted alongside Mayor Federico Susbielles.
The governor expressed his concern about the aftermath of the natural disaster, emphasizing the challenges ahead in the reconstruction of Bahía Blanca. In the midst of the crisis and tragedy, he stressed the importance of solidarity and cooperation among different levels of government and the local community to face the emergency and begin the recovery process.
