At least ten people died as a result of torrential rains that flooded the rural community of Baía Blanka, located 600 km south of Buenos Aires. By Friday afternoon, a significant part of the community was reported to be underwater after seven hours of rain. The municipality noted that "it cannot be ruled out that there may be more victims due to the scale of the climatic disaster." According to local authorities, more than 300 mm of rainfall fell in about six hours, which led to the flooding of many streets and forced more than a thousand people to evacuate in this community with a population of around 350,000.
