The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, arrived in Bahía Blanca to supervise the assistance operation following the intense storm that hit the city and its surroundings. She highlighted the monumental work that the security forces are doing to help those affected by the emergency. So far, ten deaths have been reported and thousands of evacuations due to flooding, in addition to significant damage to infrastructure such as bridges, streets, and highways. There is a possibility that the number of fatalities may increase due to the magnitude of the climatic disaster.
The Governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, was also present in the area, and the arrival of President Javier Milei is expected in the coming hours. Both the local municipality and Civil Defense have urged the population to follow official instructions and avoid unnecessary travel to facilitate rescue and assistance tasks.
Bullrich, accompanied by Defense Minister Luis Petri, toured the city alongside members of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) as part of the rescue and assistance operation. The Federal Security Forces and Armed Forces are working tirelessly to provide the necessary help to the inhabitants of the affected area.
