Severe Flooding Affects Hospital Operations in Bahía Blanca

The Dr. José Penna Interzonal Hospital in Bahía Blanca collapsed due to the intense rain that has fallen over the city since early morning, with a total of more than 200 millimeters of water. As a result, the hospital's basement was completely flooded, causing serious complications in its operability. Ambulances and other vehicles parked in the garage near Lainez and Necochea were also affected by the flooding.

Hospital officials reported that they are in the midst of reorganization to ensure emergency care, although the situation remains critical. Numerous videos and images began to circulate on social media, showing how water entered various sectors of the hospital, including emergency rooms.

In light of the hospital's collapse and the state of the streets, the municipality reiterated the request for residents to stay home and avoid traveling around the city. Authorities also warned about the risk of touching fallen wires or performing cleaning tasks on public roads due to the amount of accumulated water.

Meanwhile, emergency numbers have been activated for requesting interventions if needed: 911 for general emergencies and 109 for contacting Civil Defense. The storm continues to affect the city, with forecasts of new rainfall in the coming hours.
