As a result of the sudden and powerful storm that struck the country on Friday, in the province of Salta, Argentina, at least 16 people have died, and dozens more are missing, local authorities reported on Sunday. The presidential press service stated: "All sectors of the national government continue to strengthen their efforts... to help the victims during this difficult moment for all Argentines." Local authorities also received more than 100 warnings about missing people after the storm. President Javier Milei declared three days of mourning. The mayor of the town, Federico Susbille, reported that the storm caused damage estimated at approximately 370 million euros.
