Floods in Bahía Blanca Cause Road Collapse

A tragic flood has hit Bahía Blanca and the region, causing multiple problems, including the collapse of roads. In recent hours, it was reported that route 3 south, specifically at kilometer 711, a crucial connection route from Bahía to the district of Villarino and to the south of the country, has suffered a collapse that has hindered traffic in the area.

The Municipality of Villarino has officially confirmed that it is working together with National Highway Administration to carry out repair work on the mentioned national route 3, between kilometers 738 and 712. To address this situation, coordination has been made with Trenes Argentinos for the transfer of a locomotive to transport a generator from Bahía Blanca to Médanos. Furthermore, Edes Bahía Blanca has been requested to supply another crucial generator for the Médanos water plant.

In an official statement, it has been communicated that arrangements have begun with the Ministry of Defense to obtain the Army's collaboration to install a temporary bridge at kilometer 712 of the route. On the other hand, Mayor Carlos Bevilacqua has noted that the Villarino district is also facing power supply cuts and is awaiting a response from the relevant authorities.
