New Legislation Proposed for Flood Victims in Bahía Blanca

National deputy of Unión por la Patria Luciana Potenza presented a bill for ANSeS to double the amounts of benefits granted to citizens of Bahía Blanca affected by the recent floods for three months. The proposal aims to replicate the benefit given to residents of La Plata in 2013. Potenza, a member of La Cámpora of La Matanza, stated that the State must support society in times of national catastrophe.

"In these situations, it becomes clear that the market is not there to help people during a national catastrophe as Javier Milei and his government understand; the State must be there supporting society, as civil associations and institutions of all kinds are already mobilizing in solidarity throughout the country," expressed Potenza. She criticized the amount of resources allocated by the national government to address the emergency, referring to the 10 billion pesos sent to the municipality of Bahía Blanca.

In the foundations of the project, which is also signed by Máximo Kirchner, the importance of adopting immediate measures to provide social protection to those affected is highlighted. The initiative proposed by the Kirchnerist legislator would cover a wide range of allocations, pensions, and retirements, with the goal of alleviating the situation of those affected by the floods in Bahía Blanca.
