Independiente de Avellaneda and Estudiantes de La Plata could not complete their match corresponding to matchday 13 of the Reserve Tournament due to climatic problems that affected the state of the playing field. Despite the suspension, the match has been rescheduled to take place tomorrow at 16:00 hours, maintaining the same start time.
In case of achieving victory over El Rojo, Estudiantes de La Plata would earn three important points that would allow them to position themselves in the first place of Group B. This result would dethrone Newell's Old Boys from Rosario, which currently leads with twenty-eight points. Meanwhile, Independiente is in eighth place in the same group, with fifteen points.
"The situation is concerning for us. We need to earn three points to climb the table and achieve our goals in this tournament," said Jonatan Schunke, head coach of Estudiantes de La Plata.
It is worth noting that in 2023, Independiente became the champion of the Copa Proyección by defeating Tigre 2-1 at the Néstor Díaz Pérez stadium, home of Club Atlético Lanús.
The suspension of this match has raised alarms regarding other matches scheduled for today, such as the match between Boca Juniors and Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata in the quarterfinals of the Copa Argentina.
