Racing Forward Adrián Balboa Joins Russian Club

Forward Adrián Balboa has left Racing and will continue his career in Russian football, allowing the Avellaneda-based club to find his replacement. The Uruguayan striker was sold to FC Pari Nizhniy Novgorod in a deal close to one million dollars and will sign a four-season contract, ending his time at "The Academy". In recent hours, the Russian club accelerated negotiations and presented an offer that ultimately convinced Racing's management. The transfer was finalized for one million dollars, without bonuses, to be paid in four installments, and only the officialization remains, which will be completed once the player signs the contract in Europe. For this reason, Balboa was not called up for the debut in the 2026 Apertura Tournament. In Avellaneda, they have already solved his replacement: Racing has agreed to the arrival of Damián Pizarro, who will take his place in the squad led by Gustavo Costas and was presented as the new reinforcement. Although the agreement between the clubs is sealed, the formalization will take place in the coming hours, as the attacker is traveling to the Old Continent. This situation will allow Racing to extend the deadline for reinforcements until the end of March, an important advantage to reorganize the attacking front after the Uruguayan's departure. Balboa, who scored seven goals in 40 matches since joining Racing at the beginning of 2025, will also fulfill a personal wish he had expressed weeks earlier: if he left the Academy, he would not continue in Argentine football. Finally, his future will be in Europe, where he will seek to relaunch his career in the Russian league.
