The idol and presidential candidate of Racing, Diego Milito, shared details of a conversation he had with striker Lisandro López, expressing his desire for him to return to the club. In an interview with 'Tiempo Argentino', the representative of 'Racing Sueña' mentioned the special bond he has with the current player of Sarmiento de Junín. 'I talk a lot with Licha, I have a very special affection,' highlighted the former footballer who shined at Inter Milan.
Diego Milito also revealed that they talked about López's intentions to run as president of Racing, to which the striker responded that he was interested and excited. 'I believe Racing has enormous potential that has not been exploited,' Milito commented, urging to commit and actively participate in this key moment for the institution.
The former player of the Academy openly acknowledged his desire for Lisandro López to return to the club: 'He is at Sarmiento de Junín, he is playing, but he knows that I would love for him to be back at the club,' he pointed out about the possibility of seeing the veteran 41-year-old striker once again defending the colors of Racing.
Additionally, Diego Milito explained that his decision to run as a candidate for president of Racing arose from his perception of untapped potential in the club during his previous term as sports director. 'I saw that the club had much greater potential and felt that in order to take it to another level, I had to do it from another place,' Milito concluded about his motivation to stand for the upcoming elections at Racing.
