Journalist Luis Novaresio had a tense exchange with baker Gastón Mora, president of the Bakers' Center of Avellaneda, during an interview on A24. The initial focus of the conversation was the significant rise in basic supplies for bakeries, but the discussion quickly escalated into a political debate centered on Axel Kicillof, Javier Milei, and Alberto Fernández.
"I think it's honest for the viewer to know that you have an opinion from a committed place: you are a proud Kirchnerist and Kicillofist," Novaresio told Mora, which led to an immediate response from Mora: "Proud to be Peronist." According to Noticias Argentinas, Mora had previously explained that "we are on the verge of collapse" and that "something rises every week: flour, services, even basic supplies. They caused a disaster."
The talk became even tenser when the journalist accused Mora of having a covert political discourse. Mora responded that there is much to improve but warned that "insecurity is also the responsibility of the Judiciary, not just the Executive." Despite the criticisms, he insisted on his defense of the union and political model he represents.
He also detailed that the margarine box went from $45,000 and the flour bag from $14,000, which is leading many bakers to close their shops. Novaresio, for his part, pointed out that a critical situation was also experienced during the previous administration. "During Alberto Fernández's government, there was an inflation of 1,000%."
