At ISFD No. 41 in Adrogué, the largest tertiary institution in the province of Buenos Aires, a milestone was reached when the list "Independent Students of 41" won the elections for the Student Center against the group linked to the mayor, after 8 years in power. The leaders of the grouping celebrated this achievement, highlighting the importance of organizing against Peronist machines and uniting efforts to protect public education from the attacks of Javier Milei's government.
The students expressed their commitment to oppose adjustment policies at the national, provincial, and local levels and called for the cooperation of all who want to fight for the defense of public education. They emphasized the need to create ties between different tertiary institutions to strengthen unity in the struggle. At the busiest institute in the province, a significant change in teaching methods has been observed, with public classes and assemblies contrasting with the official management.
Participants in the elections highlighted the lack of political leadership in the campaign and the success of the independent list due to the absence of other alternative candidates. Additionally, they pointed out that the previous administration divided and abandoned student struggles. In another educational venue, ISFD No. 53 in Glew, the group linked to JP also lost control of the student center, this time to a student group affiliated with Campora.
In both cases, the victory of independent student groups over those linked to local mayors is noted, representing a setback for established political interests in both locations.
